Dare to wear makeup again? Let’s face it; you can’t bear to see your makeup gather mould at the back of your closet. After all, you spent so much on these products, and you do love putting on makeup. So, if you need to get somewhere for a small gathering, how do you do that while wearing makeup but without it getting rubbed off on a mask? A fair question considering these protective masks could make you sweat and cause your makeup to come right off. There are ways to prevent this from happening. We map out the right way to apply and set your makeup so that it is transfer-proof and serves its purpose throughout. Read on!

Base-ic Steps

Yes, you can still wear base makeup provided you set it right so that it doesn’t transfer. After cleansing, use the lightest gel moisturiser you can find. Then, apply foundation or concealer only on the areas that need to be evened out. You can even skip foundation and instead use a tinted moisturiser or sunscreen if you don’t really need too much coverage. Once you correct your discolouration and blemishes with your choice of base product, go in with a translucent powder. Proceed to applying blush and highlighter. In this case powder blush and highlighter formulas might be a better choice considering you don’t want it to stain your mask at all. Once all these steps are followed, spritz on a makeup setting spray. Your flawless base is going to stand the test of time.

Don’t Kiss & Tell

Lipstick stains on your face mask is like a bad omen. I mean who wants to see that? Not to mention, this smudge can also ruin your entire makeup look and have you looking like The Joker who just had a mental breakdown. No way! Kiss lip glosses goodbye. Try and avoid bullet lipsticks. If you can’t do that make sure you blot it after applying and before putting on your mask. Opt for transfer-proof liquid matte lipsticks or lip tints which will just add invigorating colour and won’t budge one bit. Make sure to moisturise well before applying lipstick and dab off excess product too so that you have a hydrated yet clean surface for applying your lip product.
