Just recently, five of our favourite influencers – from content creator Kusha Kapila to actor Maanvi Gagroo – shared their personal lockdown stories with us, and let us in on their relationship with their hair through this time. Through Dove’s #BaalonKiFikrChhodoDovePar campaign, we identified five more extraordinary women who have chosen to use this time of self-isolation to do more and be the best version of themselves, while trusting Dove with all their hair worries. While some have conquered the challenge of managing a business remotely, others have used this time to hone their creative skills.

Read their stories below:

“In lockdown, I have drowned myself in work. I am the proud owner and founder of a jewellery label called ‘The Slow Studio’. After initial bouts of COVID-induced denial and anxiety, I decided to pull my socks up and be the boss lady that my brand signed up for – with better time-management and some goal-setting in place, my products came out looking better than they ever did.

My relationship with my hair has been complicated, and I know that a bad hair day is really a mood-killer. Between increased domestic and work responsibilities, hair care inevitably has ended up taking a backseat. But thanks to Dove, good hair has only been a wash away. It’s safe to say that even on my roughest days, I got 99 problems but my hair ain’t one. Because that, #ILeaveItToDove.”

“Being a Fashion Designer, I try to utilize this time into making sketches and designing new collections or just draping on the mannequin. The lockdown has enhanced my creativity. I’ve utilised this time to sketch and design new collections for my label. I’ve also started gardening – watching each plant grow at its own pace has instilled patience in me.

During most of this lockdown, my hair has been tied in messy buns and braids while doing all my chores and activities. But I’ve never had to worry as I #LeaveItToDove to keep my hair soft and nourished. I’m glad that I don’t have to worry about managing my long hair and can concentrate on my work and goals.”

“I’m always chasing new experiences. But during lockdown, I could finally step back, take a break and focus on things that are really necessary in life. I used this time to further my career – I took crash courses and online classes in subjects that would help me in the future.

I try new hairstyles on a daily basis, but I’ve never been particular about taking care of my hair. I’ve slowly started following a hair care routine, but for most parts, I #LeaveItToDove to take care of my hair.”

“At the start of lockdown, I was recovering from a recent accident. Naturally, taking time off, focussing on fitness and also juggling my day job became my top priority. I’ve also always wanted to start my own fashion and styling blog, and in quarantine, I was finally able to start an Instagram page for it. It’s new, but I love every bit of it – I’ve pushed myself out of my comfort zone by putting myself out there, understanding that if you really love something, you’ll learn to make time for it.

I’ve always had long hair and was particular about hair care. But with so much on my plate, I found it very difficult to take care of it like I used to. But with Dove in the picture, I need not fret – I can sit back, relax and #LeaveItToDove to do all the work for my hair.”

“I was studying in Madrid when lockdown began, and I had to leave and come back to India. Along with routine online classes, I started pursuing my long-lost love for music. I have been singing for many years but I stayed away from posting about it on social media. During this time, I learnt to create my own music.

Juggling all this has been hectic, and the sudden shift from Spain to India has definitely taken a toll on my long hair. I believe that if my hair doesn’t feel good, I’m not at my productive best. Thankfully, I could #LeaveItToDove to make my hair look and feel good, allowing me to focus on being the best version of myself every day.”
